Virtual Exchange: collaborative language-learning, from computer screen to real life!

The first week of March was the coldest week in the UK for some time. However, a warm welcome awaited SMLC visitors from Krakow, Poland who were far more used to coping with a little snow than we are. Dr. Marcin Kleban brought four of his students (soon to be English language teachers) over to the UK to experience university life at Warwick and participate in a new SMLC language teaching module, LN306 Developing Language Teaching. The module is co-taught and that proved to be something that is rarely done in Poland.  During the week they also managed to explore the Midlands. Despite the inclement weather they managed to visit the Cotswolds, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool, although the trip to the north was impromptu due to a flight cancellation when snow disrupted flights from Birmingham.
